UX for a state-wide reporting office
A platform that combines security, trust and accessibility:
The state-wide reporting office documents cases of anti-Muslim racism. My UX design focuses on protection, comprehensibility and low thresholds for the people who raise their voices.
Together with Interkultur e.V. and Coach e.V., I designed a digital reporting point for anti-Muslim racism as part of a state-wide initiative. The aim was to create a platform where victims and witnesses of discriminatory incidents can submit reports in a secure and low-threshold manner. The collected data is used for documentation and statistics as well as a basis for political work and social awareness-raising.

Data protection & security: Protection of the reporter and at the same time protection of the reported persons, with the highest standards in every design decision.
Trust & sensitivity: The platform should not only function, but also convey an atmosphere of seriousness and security.
Complexity: Different stakeholders (ministries, NGOs, developers) brought different requirements that had to be translated into a consistent product.
Accessibility: Clear language, visual contrasts, multilingualism and easy readability so that the platform is accessible to a wide range of users.

The final product is a low-threshold, intuitive reporting point that enables anonymous and secure reporting, offers clear user guidance even in emotionally stressful situations and conveys trust, seriousness and accessibility through its design.
The platform is now live, actively in use and contributes to the state-wide documentation of discrimination cases.

Learnings
& Impact
This project shaped me in several ways. I experienced how important iterations in close collaboration with stakeholders are, especially when classic user tests are only possible to a limited extent. I was also able to hone my ability to translate complex legal and political requirements into functional interfaces.
Above all, however, I learned that UX is more than just an interface: It is a safe space that creates security, trust and empowerment for its users.
